User Question:
I have two children with Fragile X. My son is a loving child but out of the blue will hit his sister for no reason. Many times there is no reason like he didn't get his way. He is on medication but it happens so randomly and don't know why. He is remorseful afterwards. Any thoughts? Thanks

Doctors Response:
Thank you for your question. Remember one of the issues with all children in the spectrum is being able to communicate feelings. There a lot of growing up that they will be facing which is sometimes very difficult for them to handled at once. Medications can only help to a point but you need to continue with one on one therapy to help with the understanding of certain behavior .

User Question:
I had a hysterectormy and bladder repair in January this year. Since the operation I have had a great deal of pain in the vulva area mostly a pulling feeling on the left side which seems to move around the area. I also have a sharp stabbing sensation if i do pelvic floor exercises. I find it difficult to sit on hard chairs as this causes great discomfort. I also have had a sharp sensation around the entrance to the vagina, but this seems to have lessened. My Gynacologist seems to think it may be due to a trapped nerve in my back because of the position I was put in when I had the vaginal procedure . Do you think these symptons sound as though it may be the case or do you think it is vulvanydia, and can vulvanydia be brought on by surgery?

Doctors Response:
It could be vulvadynia but the best way to test it will be with a physical examination and using a special vaginal monitor that measures vaginal muscle tone. There are pelvic floor specialist that could help.

User Question:
I was amazed and thoroughly dismayed to read your public support of Bloomberg's decision to limit the size of soft drinks, whether it's the "healthier" thing to do, or not! Do you want the government to dictate everything we can say or do? If so, why are you a Fox News contributor? Wouldn't CNN or MSNBC be a better fit for you?

Doctors Response:
Remember we are fair and balance.

User Question:
i really enjoyed your segment on the news, i liked hearing your views on kids today . you touched briefly on drugs and how well(or not so well) our tactics are working to keep kids away. on the same episode, there was a brief segment about 17 magazine and how they're becoming more natural, in hopes of attracting a crowd that is not so much into vanity...i don't think they're doing a good job. i always wondered, as a mom of three boys and a grandma of a 3 year old girl, why there isn't something out there that keeps it real and attracts young readers. what do you think and would it be something that holds it own in the public media, let's face it the DARE program doesn't work, and out of all the publications out there, where is the magazine that keeps it real??

Doctors Response:
Thank you for your kind words/ You are right we need to keep our world more real and natural. This is going to be a tough war but parents need to take stand and demand and support traditional values and reject all the nonsense in the media today. We need more people like you.

User Question:
If a girl is a 24 year old virgin, do she have to have a pap smear done?

Doctors Response:
Even though she is not sexually active I think it will be beneficial to have a general gyn exam. I think it is important to make sure the entire pelvic anatomy is doing well and stablish a relationship with your primary gyn for future use.
Question#9
User Name:
What is your name?

User Question:
Dear Dr. Manny, I have concerns about the use of testosterone and the greater possibility of prostate cancer that may result. Have any conclusions been arrived at concerning the safety of taking (injections, etc.)? I’m concerned with the trade off one might have to pay. I’m a contented and happy 86 year old/young guy whose testosterone recently started to run out. I guess I can live without further sex (orgasms), but life is more “interesting” having them. However, I wonder if there is a price to pay. Nature, often “takes its pound of flesh.” A million thanks for your thoughts. I have often seen you on Fox and have a high regard for your opinion. Sincerely, Sten Gould

Doctors Response:
I have spoken to many experts and as of date there is no direct link on the use of testosterone and prostate cancer . But all patients with risk factors like family history of prostate cancer need further discussion with a urologist

User Question:
I have pain in the esophagus, what is good for that, using natural med.

Doctors Response:
Before you get into any treatment natural or not . You must first see a physician . Pain is a symptom that must be evaluated. I would suggest a gastroenterologist . He or she might consider an upper endoscopy.

User Question:
CAN CHILDREN OUTGROW AUTISM WITH MATURITY?

Doctors Response:
I think so . If you set up a comprehensive plan with early intervention you might see dramatic changes overtime. I have seen a good mature change in my son. Nutrion is key

DelRae Hanson

User Question:
Grandson paces, chew finger nails till they bleed, most of the time he seems like he's in his own little world like he's not there with the rest of us. He has a problem with loud noise and being in large groups of people due to the noise. Could he have a form of autism

Doctors Response:
I do not know if it is autism with this limited information but depending on his age I truly belief that you should get him evaluated . You could try a developmental pediatrician or if he is in qschool talk to his counsellor and ask for an evaluation.
Question#14
User Name:
Kathy King

User Question:
Our Daughter just had a baby, she had an epidural put in, when it was time to take it out the nurse pulled it out part of the end broke inside her, we have more questions then answeres on this, she in intent on breastfeeding her child, we are concerned on about leaving this part part in her body, this is a very rare happening, they currently are getting information from the manufacture of this material, we would appreciate any information you might have on this situation, we have listened to on fox news,Thank you, Kathy and Burt King, e-Mail bking001@centurytel .net you may know about this

Doctors Response:
I am so sorry that this incident happened to you daughter . Depending where that small piece of plastic is imbeted then a consultant like a spine surgeon might consider removal. I think is important to see if an MRI could help locate the foreign object.
